Take the awkward out of networking

I think it's time to share one of my favorite projects that I ever creative directed...for an organization specialized in recruiting engineers (HumanPredictions.io).

Take the Awkward Out of Networking 💡👾

It was never finished or released.

I've wanted to share it for a few years but kept making excuses not to.

So why not now? ⏰

When it comes to creative directing multimedia, it's always about process...and there are three principles that I always keep close.

This isn't new. It's timeless, on-the-job wisdom passed to me, through mentorship, when I started out back in 2009.

So I want to pass it on.

(1) Ideation starts with the collaboration—everyone shares in the ownership of the vision and story
(2) It moves to the writing, so we can all lock in the story together—usually where I jump in
(3) We build on the foundation with visuals that spark the imagination...whether that's an infographic, webinar, event booth product demo, etc...usually beginning with a storyboard so we can make continuous adjustments to the core story.

Start simple, so the whole team can shape the narrative. Create space for varying levels of production value.

I lost touch with the illustrator and animator, but here were the people on the team who helped shape this: Lindsey DiCello (business stakeholder, co-creative direction), Elliott Garms (business stakeholder, co-creative direction), Devon Pipars (voice over).

It was so fun watching this come alive. Please pardon the typos and any imperfections; COVID got in our way! I’m hearing that imperfection is now on-trend, so...
